Foxtrot, a hybrid corner store, cafe and delivery market, is expanding its Washington, D.C. outreach with a new store opening on Tuesday, the Chicago-based chain announced last week.

The Farragut Square location at 888 17th St. NW will be the company’s seventh Washington, D.C./Maryland/Virginia (DMV)-area location.

Foxtrot currently has 24 locations across Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Dallas, with plans to continue expansion in both existing and new markets this fall.

With two new store openings this month in the DMV area, Foxtrot CEO Mike LaVitola told WGB about the company’s plans for future growth.

“We are continuing to focus on new store expansion and our e-commerce operations,” LaVitola said. “We are excited to open Austin, our fourth market, in the near future and then, for the remainder of the year, we will be expanding in these four regions.”

The new Foxtrot locations in Austin include 4818 Burnet Road and 1804 South First Street, according to the Foxtrot website.

Developed by Foxtrot’s in-house design team in partnership with interior designer NAHRA, the nation’s capital new location will cater to the surrounding office buildings as a space for lunch meetings, coffee breaks and more.

Foxtrot currently carries more than 150 local products from over 50 makers and will continue to add new brands to its shelves, the company said. All products are selected with an emphasis on convenience.

“Foxtrot offers thoughtfully sourced coffee, seasonal café drinks, fresh smoothies, breakfast tacos, chef-prepared salads and bowls, and delicious grab-and-go meals for lunch and dinner,” LaVitola told. “As a modern convenience store, we strive to offer our consumers the ability to quickly pop in for a snack during work, take lunch with them on-the-go, or to enjoy in the comfort of their home. Though we provide comfortable spaces for our guests to eat, our brand emphasizes convenience whether in-store,  for pickup or on-demand delivery through our app.”

As part of the store’s opening celebration, live music, food and drinks and other features will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Shoppers who download and use the Foxtrot app opening week will receive a gift while supplies last, the retailer said in a statement.
