Grocery Outlet to open its newest store in Smelterville, Idaho

Grocery Outlet will open its newest location in Smelterville, Idaho, on Thursday, the Emeryville, California-based retailer said Friday. Located at 20 Nearing Way in Smelterville, the new store brings 29 new jobs to the Silver Valley community.

Grocery Outlet stores are independently operated by local families who are committed to supporting their communities.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Silver Valley community and provide big savings on quality groceries,” said independent operator Melinda Parks, in a statement. “This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives me the ability to grow my business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to the local community.”

Offering the same brands as traditional grocery stores but at lower prices, Grocery Outlet said its buyers “scour the country to find the top manufacturers with excess inventory and seasonal closeouts so Grocery Outlet can offer ‘wow savings’ on thousands of name-brand products."

Prior to the opening, Parks donated $1,000 to the Silver Valley Snack Program, whose mission is to provide snacks for families and individuals facing food insecurity. 

Now through Nov. 24 customers can enter to win $1,000 in groceries, valid only at the Smelterville Grocery Outlet, and the first 100 customers attending the ribbon-cutting celebration will receive Grocery Outlet Bliss Buck gift cards ranging from $5 to $500, the retailer said.

A third-generation, family-led company founded in 1946, Grocery Outlet has over 425 locations throughout California, Idaho, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and Maryland.
