H-E-B plans to open a new supermarket in Allen, Texas, next month, part of its ongoing expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where it has three additional stores under construction.

The 117,000-square-foot Allen H-E-B, located about 25 miles north of Dallas, opens on Oct. 4 and will feature a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, a True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru, an H-E-B Wellness Primary Care clinic, curbside pickup, home delivery and more, the grocer announced Tuesday.

The Allen store is located at 575 E. Exchange Parkway and will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

H-E-B broke ground on the Allen store in May 2022, after purchasing the property in 2014, according to local reports.

Also in H-E-B’s new-store pipeline are locations in Melissa at the northeast corner of US 75 and Highway 121, Prosper at the southeast corner of Frontier Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway, and Rockwall at the southwest corner of John King Boulevard and I30.

Those three stores are slated to open in 2025, and H-E-B said it would release groundbreaking information on them early next year.

San Antonio-based H-E-B, in a statement, said it is “committed to the DFW area for the long term and hopes to serve even more of the Metroplex in the future.”

In recent years, the Texas grocer has opened stores in Frisco, Plano and McKinney. The retailer has also announced supermarkets in Alliance and Mansfield, as well as plans to open two value-focused Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B stores in Dallas.

H-E-B also operates six of its upscale Central Market stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

H-E-B opened the McKinney location in July, its third Dallas-area location. The nearly 120,000-square-foot supermarket also features a barbecue restaurant, full-service pharmacy with drive-thru, fuel station, car wash and more.

In June, the grocer opened a 55,000-square-foot e-commerce fulfillment center in Plano, designed to support growth in the DFW area.

H-E-B, the largest private employer in Texas, operates more than 420 supermarkets.
