Wednesday is a big day for H-E-B.

The fast-growing Texas grocer is opening three new stores, in Willis, Magnolia and Plano.

The Willis H-E-B, about 45 miles north of Houston, anchors the new Market at Willis Shopping Center. Houston-based developer Fidelis broke ground on the new shopping center in September 2021.

The Willis H-E-B will occupy more than 110,000 square feet, according to Fidelis.

“With the closest retail shopping center over 5 miles away, this property will provide much-needed restaurants and shopping options to the immediate area,” said Lynn Davis, co-president and chief leasing and development officer for Fidelis, in a statement. “We are excited to partner with H-E-B and bring one of the largest retailers in the United States to Willis.”

H-E-B’s new Willis store will feature curbside pickup and delivery, as well as prepared foods, beef cut in-store, fresh seafood and sushi, local and organic produce, tortillas and breads made in-store, and extensive beer and wine selection, and a drive-thru pharmacy.

H-E-B’s Magnolia store, about 45 miles northwest of Houston, is 95,000 square feet. It anchors the new mixed-use Magnolia Place development that consists of four retail buildings, 194 lots for single-family homes and 500 multi-family units, according to developer Stratus Properties in August 2021.

The Magnolia store will also offer curbside pickup and delivery, as well as a tortilleria, cheese shop, house-roasted meats, Texas Backyard outdoors department, take-and-bake pizza, craft beer and wine and more.

The nearest H-E-B is also in Magnolia, about six miles away.

The Plano store at 6001 Preston Road is 118,000 square feet and includes a drive-thru pharmacy, fuel station, car wash, True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru and more.

H-E-B has been growing swiftly. Late last week, the grocer revealed plans to build two new stores—one in northwest Houston and the other on the northern edge of Fort Worth.

In September, H-E-B opened a 111,000-square-foot store in Frisco, Texas. Early next year, H-E-B plans to break ground for a new store in Mansfield, Texas, about 40 minutes south of Dallas.

The grocer currently has more than 420 stores in Texas and Mexico.
