Heinen’s is on the verge of adding new territory in Illinois, with a potential new location in Naperville, a western suburb of Chicago.

The Warrensville Heights, Ohio-based independent grocer currently operates four stores in the city’s northern suburbs.

Naperville planning and zoning commissioners on Wednesday unanimously backed plans for the new store, but the proposal still must be approved by city council members, according to reporting from The Daily Herald.

If approved, Heinen’s officials hope to start construction work this year and open next summer, the Herald reported.

According to the plans, Heinen’s would demolish an existing shopping center in the location to build the new store.
