REMIS America launched its semi-vertical refrigerated door, the Curve XL, at the recent FMI2012 show in Dallas. The insulated sliding glass door was featured in both the Southern Case Arts (formerly Southern Store Fixtures) and logo in a gray background | Hussmann booths. Both OEMs reported strong retailer interest in the curved glass doors during and after the show, say officials for Elkhart, Ind.-based REMIS. “FMI 2012 was a very good show for REMIS America and our North American launch of Curve XL with Hussmann and Southern Case Arts played a big role in the event’s significance,” says Matt Pletcher, managing director for REMIS. The doors are currently produced by REMIS GmbH in Germany, but with retailer interest on the rise, Pletcher says REMIS America is working out the details to produce the doors in the U.S. “We plan to have this new and exciting energy efficient door produced in our Elkhart, Ind. facility by late Q1 of 2013,” he says. REMIS AMERICA offers retrofit refrigeration doors and covers to grocery retailers and OEM case manufacturers that cut energy costs up to 80% while also greatly reducing retailers’ carbon footprint, say company officials.
