Sprouts Farmers Market has added a few more stores to its grand-openings list.

The fast-growing Phoenix-based specialty grocer is scheduled to debut a new location in San Jose, California, on Friday, one in Bradenton, Florida, on June 30, and another in Queen Creek, Arizona, on August 18.

Earlier this month, Sprouts opened a new store in Manassas, Virginia. It has another market scheduled to open on July 21 in Fort Myers, Florida.

The new Sprouts on 615 Coleman Ave. will be the grocer’s fifth location in the city and its 135th in California.

“Sprouts’ investment in the heart of our city will increase our access to fresh and affordable high-quality food,” San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome them to this highly trafficked corner of downtown San Jose.”

The new store will carry local produce from California farmers like A&A Organic Farms, Capay Organic Farm and others, Sprouts said.

In Florida, Sprouts recently held a hiring event to fill about 95 full- and part-time roles at its new Bradenton location at 1149 Cortex Road. Sprouts currently has new 40 grocery stores in Florida.

Sprouts is seeking to hire department managers, assistant department managers, clerks, cashiers, courtesy clerks, a backup receiver, administrative coordinator and scan coordinator.

Sprouts is also looking to hire about 95 workers for its Queen Creek store at 37666 N. Gantzel Road, with a virtual management hiring event scheduled for June 21 and in-person hiring events scheduled for July.

Sprouts current has 45 stores in Arizona.

In March, Sprouts announced it would close 11 unprofitable locations by the first half of the year. But the grocer, which recently shifted to a smaller store footprint, said it still intends to open about 30 new stores this year. The grocer opened 16 new locations in 2022.

The retailer, which focuses on fresh produce and organic foods, also said it is expanding its supply chain network. Sprouts is relocating a Southern California distribution center to a larger facility, expanding a distribution facility in Texas, and adding produce ripening rooms to its facilities in Arizona, Texas and Southern California.
