Sprouts Farmers Market is opening its newest store, in Lancaster, California, on April 28, the specialty grocer announced Thursday.

The 23,256-square-foot supermarket will be located at 43668 15 St. West in Lancaster and feature locally grown produce from ECO Farms, G&M Farms and George Perry and Sons, which are marked with blue tags throughout the store.

“I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Sprouts Farmers Market to Lancaster,” said R. Rex Parris, mayor of Lancaster, in a statement. “This new addition to our community not only provides access to fresh, healthy food options but also creates job opportunities for our residents.”

Weekend events taking place during the grand opening will include an interactive produce stand, food giveaways, live music, prizes and crafts for kids. The grocer also said the first 200 shoppers will receive a free “Goodness it’s Free” reusable goodie bag filled with product samples.

This summer, the health-focused grocer will host a customer appreciation event on June 24 that includes free samples, education and more.

Following this new store opening, Sprouts will host grand openings in Manassas, Virginia, and Las Vegas, Nevada, in May.

Phoenix-based Sprouts, which focuses on fresh produce and better-for-you items, operates about 380 stores in 23 states and has 31,000 employees.
