Target announced it will open a Chicago store in a landmark at South State Street and Madison Street East in Chicago. The small-format store will be the first store in a U.S. Historic Landmark at the newly restored Carson Pirie Scott building, now known as Sullivan Center. The company also announced that its small-format locations across the U.S. will be named CityTarget, to include the store in Chicago. CityTarget will offer guests one-stop shopping with fresh food, apartment essentials, fashions and designer collections.
The store will open in 2012 and create about 200 jobs locally. Target currently has 10 other stores in the City of Chicago.
