Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, announced a $3.4 million total investment in three of its stores located in Ithaca, N.Y., Lansing, N.Y. and East Aurora, N.Y. Individual store grand re-opening celebrations were held July 22 in Lansing and July 23 in East Aurora. The two largest transformations took place at the Lansing and East Aurora Tops Markets. Lansing store renovations, totaling $1.65 million investment, included revamped produce, prepared foods and deli departments, along with a new pharmacy, brew market and bulk section, and the introduction of a new freshly fried donut program. With a $1.5 million investment, the East Aurora store location received an enhanced natural and organic section, expanded produce, prepared foods and deli departments, and also upgraded full-service meat and seafood departments. Both stores were given new décor, all in an effort to provide a better shopping experience for customers. The Ithaca Tops, with a $250,000 investment, also underwent a remodel, with several new and exciting additions that customers can enjoy. Among these changes that will further enhance customers’ shopping experiences are a new soup bar, an enhanced floral department and new paint and décor. “Since the return of local ownership, Tops has been able to make major reinvestments back into the company’s stores.” said Frank Curci, chairman, president and CEO of Tops Markets.  “We value our shoppers’ feedback and have brought the necessary changes that will provide them with an even better and more enjoyable shopping experience.”
