Tops Friendly Markets to Open Six New Stores
Five of these stores will open in New York and one will open in Gardner, Mass.
Tops Friendly Markets, a full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northwestern Pennsylvania, western Vermont, and north central Massachusetts will open six of its newest stores the week beginning August 21.
Five of these stores will open in New York (Rhinebeck, New Paltz, Wappingers Falls, LaGrangeville, and Carmel) and one will open in Gardner, Mass. These stores were all a part of a recent acquisition from Stop & Shop and Hannaford Supermarkets.
“Having had the opportunity to personally meet with Associates, customers, and speak to members of the community, we are already receiving a warm welcome which is exciting,” says Frank Curci, Tops Markets’ chairman and CEO. “We are looking forward to having these stores, the associates and the surrounding communities become part of the Tops family, however in order to fully transition the stores, we will need to be closed for approximately 36 hours prior to the stores opening as Tops. After that for both our customers and us, it will be business as usual.”
When doors open at the six new locations, customers will enjoy the ease of their prescriptions being automatically transferred over to the Tops Pharmacy, a fuel card which will earn customers additional savings each time they fill up at the pump, and an enhanced Sunday thru Saturday ad circular. Additionally former Stop & Shop customer’s loyalty cards will automatically be linked to the Tops BonusPlus card while former Hannaford customers will be issued a Tops BonusPlus card that they will see in the mail this week.
