Trader Joe's time-lapse video shows store construction

A time-lapse video provides an inside look at construction of a new Trader Joe’s store in Schaumburg, Ill., over seven months. The store opened on Friday.

The 12,705-square-foot store is located in a shopping center that also contains a Costco, PetSmart and several clothing stores.

DDR, the owner of the shopping center, said Trader Joe’s had been interested in the location for a long time, but a new section of the plaza had to be filled in to accommodate the retailer.
