RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug has partnered with health care technology company BioSignia, Research Triangle Park, N.C., this week, to offer customers an in-store, individualized disease risk assessment service. Kerr Drug is the first pharmacy chain in the nation to offer the technology, BioSignia said. Called "Know Your Number," the test predicts the onset of preventable diseases. A report, provided to help track progress, compares a patient’s current health status against their peers, reveals what chronic disease risks are modifiable and lets the patient know what factors are contributing to the risks of developing specific chronic conditions. The tool will be available to customers at participating Kerr Health Care Center stores in North Carolina. About 10% of Kerr’s 164 stores throughout North and South Carolina are Kerr Health Care Centers. The centers include an area for health screenings and diagnostic tests and a dedicated health care specialist. The specialist is available to assist customers in finding mobility and home health products, file Medicare and Medicaid forms, and assist the senior population with various health concerns, according to Kerr Drug.
