Publix launches virtual health care service

By filling out an online health questionnaire, customers can seek medical care from a licensed provider with no appointment

Publix has launched a virtual health care service powered by health care solutions company WellSync. By filling out an online health questionnaire, customers can get medical care from a licensed provider with no appointment needed. The service is available to anyone 18 or older for common health conditions like allergies, sinus infections, and hair loss, among other issues. Patients may also use the service to refill certain medications. The service is $25 per consultation, and no insurance is needed.

Providers will be able to respond to submissions in as little as an hour during their operating hours of 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday and Sunday. Response times outside of these hours and on holidays may not be as timely. If prescriptions are issued, customers have the convenience of filling their medication at their Publix Pharmacy.

Publix Pharmacy has over 1,300 locations throughout Publix’s eight-state operating area. In addition to the company’s standard retail pharmacy, Publix Pharmacy operates a dual-accredited specialty pharmacy that dispenses and provides support for more complex medications not typically found at traditional pharmacies, such as those developed to treat rare diseases.
