To incentivize online grocery shopping via its corporate-run supermarkets, SpartanNash has expanded benefits for subscribers to its Fast Lane delivery and pickup service.

Currently, SpartanNash stores — including the Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market, Family Fresh Market, VG’s Grocery, Dan’s Supermarket, Forest Hills Foods and Ada Fresh Market banners — provide Fast Lane subscriptions at $49 per year or $16.95 per month for free, unlimited curbside pickup, saving users a $4.95-per-order fee. Now under the program, subscribers will receive half-off the delivery fee, an extra $4.95-per-order savings, at participating Fast Lane stores.

According to SpartanNash, the new benefit could save shoppers an hour per week (based on two grocery trips each week) in addition to $465 per year on pick fees (based on two picks per week) and $208 per year on delivery fees (based on one delivery per week) to their home.

“Fast Lane is already a great value for our store guests, offering the same in-store prices without needing to even step foot in an aisle. But now, we’re taking it to a whole new level with these perks,” Brian Holt, vice president of marketing at SpartanNash, said in a statement. “As a Fast Lane subscriber, you have access to our team of dedicated personal shoppers, great benefits and exclusive savings, all for less than a dollar a week.”

In addition, SpartanNash has added a “monthly bonus savings” feature for Fast Lane subscribers that serves up discounts across store departments. In June, for example, the bonus offers exclusive to subscribers include 10% off Our Family products (excluding dairy), 5 cents off fuel for Fast Lane transaction, 15% off Daisy cottage cheese, 15% off Coffee-Mate liquid creamers, 15% off Kellogg’s crackers, 20% off Jack’s frozen pizzas, 15% off Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts and 15% off select Chobani products.

Fast Lane service is available at 68 SpartanNash-owned and -operated supermarkets in Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Since the launch of Fast Lane in July 2017, starting with click-and-collect at selected Family Fare stores, Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SpartanNash has added a range of features to the online grocery service, including home delivery, same-day order fulfillment, GPS location technology and instant “clipping” of digital coupons.
