Braga Fresh Family Farms announces that 25 Josie’s Organics products have been verified by the Non-GMO Project, including products in every category across their full line of USDA-certified organic beets, radishes, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, herbs, kales, chards, lettuce and greens. The Non-GMO Project is North America’s only independent verification for products made according to best practices for GMO avoidance. While Josie’s Organics have always been non-GMO, as are all products certified organic under the USDA organic regulations, Non-GMO Project verification enhances their USDA certifications by highlighting the Braga family’s commitment to sustainable farming, and adding the extra assurance of independent, third-party confirmation and transparency to customers and consumers, company officials say. “At Braga Fresh Family Farms and through Josie’s Organics, we have a responsibility to continue our family tradition — remember the past, be mindful of the present, and always look to the future,” says Rod Braga, president and CEO of Braga Fresh Family Farms. “Sustainable farming has been our way of life for three generations, and the Non-GMO Project verification of Josie’s Organics products is a tribute to the way we have always farmed and will continue to farm in the future.” Braga Fresh Family Farms has been growing organically for nearly 20 years, and has employed sustainable growing practices for nearly a century, officials add. The Josie’s Organics brand is inspired by Rod Braga’s grandmother Josie, offers more than 25 USDA-certified organic vegetables, and continues to grow with new products in trial on a regular basis.
