On Sunday, September 14 no cars or other motorized vehicles will be allowed in the heart of downtown Boulder's Pearl Street. Instead, Boulder will play host to the 5th Annual Boulder Green Streets, a multi-mile-long street festival open only to people, pedestrians, pets, skateboarders, and bicycles. Founded in the tradition of Ciclovias, popular public events originating in Latin America and now held in major cities throughout the world, Boulder Green Streets, now in its fifth year, is a one-day car-free festival that inspires participants to re-imagine their worlds by encouraging them to find ways to commute and live while promoting sustainability, health and wellness, say company officials. In addition to a parade, climbing wall, eco-fashion show and other activities, Boulder Green Streets will feature the Organic Alley pavilion featuring local artisan producers and natural, organic and sustainable brands. The Organic Alley Pavilion will showcase leading local and national brands including Boulder Brands, Zevia, Door to Door Organics, Best Organics, Way Better Snacks, Goddess Garden Organics, Mamma Chia, Dr. Bronners, Qrunch Foods, Sunshine Burgers, Happy Family, Made in Nature, Bobo's Oat Bars, Cocomels, Runa, Foodie Fuel, GoOrganic Candy, Olomomo, NibMor, I and Love and You, Marley Coffee, Wacky Apple, Missy J's, Purely Elizabeth, Quinn Popcorn, Essential Living Foods, Coco Ridge Coconut Water, Froovie Organics, Tolerent Foods, Love Grown Foods, Alphay, CampoKeeper, HiBall Organic Energy Drink, Naked Edged Snacks, The Natural Hapa, True Goods, Dreaming Cow, Saffron Road and many more. “With individuals and families on foot or bike and enjoying the day, this will be an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to engage in a hugely popular community and cultural event, one that reaches all of Boulder, a core market for healthy lifestyles," says Seleyn DeYarus, CEO of Best Organics. “Boulder is a center of natural and organic business, and also is one of the most engaged communities in the nation when it comes to consumer awareness of natural health and environmental sustainability,” says Hillary Griffith, founder and director of Boulder Green Streets. “Showcasing natural and organic products in the Organic Alley Pavilion cultivates and supports the healthy lifestyle focus of our event.” For more information and to download a free route map, visit www.BoulderGreenStreets.org.
