United Fresh Announces Foodservice Award Winners
WASHINGTON — The United Fresh Research and Education Foundation, a division of the United Fresh Produce Association, Monday announced the winners of its 2010 Produce Excellence in Foodservice Awards.

WASHINGTON — The United Fresh Research and Education Foundation, a division of the United Fresh Produce Association, Monday announced the winners of its 2010 Produce Excellence in Foodservice Awards.
“All of the honorees show a tremendous commitment to using fresh produce to create innovative and nutritious menu items,” United Fresh President Tom Stenzel said in a release. “We greatly appreciate [sponsor] Pro*Act’s support in recognizing these winners and their positive impact on our nation’s dining habits.”
A panel of produce and foodservice industry leaders selected winners in five business categories. The following award recipients will be honored at United Fresh’s upcoming trade show and expo in Las Vegas, April 20-23.
Business in Industry & Colleges: Fred Reynaud, corporate executive chef, Guest Services Inc., Fairfax, Va.
Casual & Family Dining: Christopher Jackson, executive chef and owner, Ted & Honey, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Fine Dining: Sydney Meers, chef/owner, Stove, The Restaurant, Portsmouth, Va.
Hotels & Health Care: Michael Reich, executive chef, Renaissance Chicago Hotel, Chicago.
Quick Service: Thomas John, senior vice president and executive chef, Au Bon Pain, Boston, Mass.
