Woods Elected to IDDBA Executive Committee

Giant Eagle's senior director of deli, Voni Woods, has been elected treasurer of Madison, Wis.-based International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association, beginning her first term on the IDDBA executive committee.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Giant Eagle's senior director of deli, Voni Woods, has been elected treasurer of Madison, Wis.-based International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association, beginning her first term on the IDDBA executive committee.

Once elected to the executive committee, Woods, as others do, will move up through the ranks, becoming vice president next year, then executive vice president and then president, an IDDBA spokesman said.

Other retailers who have served as IDDBA president include Tom Brewer, Price Chopper, Schenectady, N.Y.; Ed Meyer, Schnuck Markets, St. Louis; and Mike Eardley, H.E. Butt, San Antonio.

IDDBA's board of directors elected officers at its annual business meeting earlier this month. John Sullivan, president & CEO, Norseland, Stamford, Conn., was named president, succeeding Ray Burke, president in-store bakery & foodservice division, Rich Products Corp., Buffalo, NY.

Other new officers for 2009-2010 are Mark Rudy, vice president of sales, Hubert Co., Harrison, Ohio, IDDBA executive vice president; Steve Beekhuizen, senior vice president, sales, Dawn Food Products, Denver, Colo., IDDBA vice president; and Ray Burke, IDDBA past president.
