B&R Stores’ Super Saver chain is offering customers a chance to put their culinary creativity to the test in the Smokehouse Challenge, beginning Wednesday.

The event offers contestants the opportunity to turn their fantasy flavor into a Smokehouse sausage that will be sold in Super Saver stores throughout Nebraska and Iowa. Entrants can submit their ideas for sausages online or in-store at customer service desks until Aug. 24.

Super Saver’s award-winning sausage maker, “Smokin’” Bob Voss, and the Smokehouse team will create sausages for the four finalist flavors that will be sold in Super Saver stores from Sept. 18–Oct. 18. The best-selling sausage will be the Smokehouse Challenge winner.

“Our Smokehouse team likes to experiment with different flavors,” Voss said. “We’re looking forward to creating new sausages based on the best ideas from our customers.”

Four finalists will receive $50 gift cards to Super Saver, and each final-four sausage flavor will be named after the person who submitted the entry. The winning flavor will continue to be made and sold in Super Saver stores for a limited time. The winner will also receive an additional $100 in Super Saver gift cards.

B&R Stores is headquartered in Lincoln, Neb.
