Amazon recently announced that it’s halting the rollout of its Amazon Fresh retail stores while it re-evaluates the concept’s economics. In a recent fourth-quarter conference call with analysts, Amazon president and CEO Andrew Jassy said: 
 
“We’re doing a fair bit of experimentation today in those stores to try to find a format that we think resonates with customers.” 

It remains to be seen exactly what that format will look like.
