Shoppers Drug Mart OKs Labor Contract

TERRACE, British Columbia — Workers at a Shoppers Drug Mart here last week voted in favor of a new labor contract after threatening to strike, according to local reports.

The vote ends 10 months of negotiations and puts the store’s contact in parity with those of other Shoppers locations in the province, the Terrace Standard reported.

Eighty percent of the workers at the store, who are members of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1518, voted in favor of the new pact, which includes wage increases and a signing bonus.
