SCHNUCKS ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS

has promoted Edward Meyer to vice president of meat and seafood, reporting to Randy Wedel, senior vice president of marketing and merchandising. Formerly the vice president of deli/seafood/carryout foods, Meyer is taking the position previously held by Cyril Jansen. Earlier this year, Jansen announced his plans to retire. Since then, the retailer has been working on merging meat and seafood operations, officials said. As a result of Meyer's promotion, Melissa Bunch has been named interim director of deli and prepared foods. Most recently, Bunch worked as a category manager in the deli/seafood department. In the new position, Bunch is responsible for deli and food bars throughout the chain, and will oversee the operation of the company's central kitchen in O'Fallon, Mo. Bunch also reports to Wedel. Schnucks operates 102 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa.
