Rouses Markets put a focus on fresh Gulf seafood through social media posts and store ads for a store in Denham Springs, La., that opened this week.

The Thibodaux, La.-based retailer says seafood like Louisiana shrimp is “straight from our docks to our stores. Caught just for Rouses.”

Rouses’ seafood department will filet a whole fish or marinate seafood for customers, and seafood is boiled in store.

Ad specials at the Denham Springs location for the first week included Louisiana shrimp, fresh Louisiana oysters and frozen Louisiana peeled crawfish tails.

The store also offered deals on other local items like Louisiana strawberries, Manda smoked sausage and Zapp’s chips.
