SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Hannaford Bros. here will use an automated assortment and space-planning optimization system from U.K-based Galleria Retail Technology Solutions, Galleria announced yesterday. Galleria, with U.S. headquarters in Chicago, will deliver customer-centric assortments, communicated through automated store- specific planograms, to more than 160 Hannaford stores across Maine, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont and to over 100 Sweetbay stores operating in Florida. This implementation follows the deployment of Galleria’s solution within Food Lion, another Delhaize Group U.S. company. “We quickly recognized that in order to fully realize the benefits of our strategic investments in price optimization and computer-assisted ordering, we needed to provide our merchandising teams with enhanced assortment planning and space optimization capabilities,” said Bill Homa, senior vice president and chief information officer, Hannaford Bros., in a statement.
