Hill Phoenix Joins EPA GreenChill Partnership with Food Retailers

Refrigeration manufacturer Hill Phoenix announced yesterday that it has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership, a cooperative partnership comprising food retailers and chemical and refrigeration equipment manufacturers.

CONYERS, Ga. — Refrigeration manufacturer Hill Phoenix here announced yesterday that it has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership, a cooperative partnership comprising food retailers and chemical and refrigeration equipment manufacturers. Retail members of GreenChill include Food Lion, Giant Eagle, Hannaford Bros., Publix Super Markets and Whole Food Markets. The partnership is intended to promote the use of retail food refrigeration technologies that reduce emissions of ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases by reducing refrigerant emissions and improving refrigeration efficiency. Food Lion is currently testing Hill Phoenix’s secondary-loop refrigeration system in an effort to address the goals set by the GreenChill program.
