LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — 1SYNC, the data pool division of GS1 US here, yesterday announced that it can now support the recently approved Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) standard for price synchronization. The new standard was introduced by GDSN to help suppliers, distributors and retailers reduce invoice discrepancies, improve order accuracy and introduce new products faster by automatically synchronizing price information. “We are looking forward to streamlining our business processes by using 1SYNC’s GDSN price solution, said John Phillips, vice president, customer supply chain and logistics, PepsiCo, in a statement. “Having this capability will enable us to have a single connection to exchange price information with our customers instead of managing several custom connections.” PepsiCo participated in a pilot of the price standard with Supervalu, Coca-Cola and others. The price standard is a long-awaited follow-up to the data synchronization standards supporting basic item information.
