DENVER — Beginning in January, the Food Marketing Institute, Arlington, Va., will be offering retailers a Web-based “Sustainability Toolkit” that will provide “practical tips, advice and strategies” for implementing a sustainability program, said Tom McIntyre, senior manager, resource conservation and environmental stewardship, Supervalu, Minneapolis. McIntyre described the toolkit Tuesday during a session at FMI’s Energy & Technical Services Conference here. It will also include “best practices, learnings and other examples of companies in the food retail value chain,” he said. FMI will hold its first Sustainability Summit next June.
