ST. PAUL, Minn. — Kowalski’s Markets is calling attention to the fact that its private-label, fresh pasta is hand-made locally from ingredients grown and raised on small family farms in the Midwest.

In the 9-unit independent’s March newsletter, the pasta is spotlighted thus: “Unlike other brands of fresh pasta available, Kowalski’s brand is made in small batches by artisan craftsmen.”

The pasta, in several varieties, is produced in Madison, Wis. The newsletter item lists the varieties, available in Kowalski’s dairy departments, and then offers recipes featuring some of them.
