Toolkits Available for America Recycles Day

STAMFORD, Conn. — National nonprofit Keep America Beautiful (KAB) is making available event organizer toolkits, including educational materials, promotional items, event signage and “go-to guides,” in support of its 15th annual America Recycles Day on Nov. 15.

STAMFORD, Conn. — National nonprofit Keep America Beautiful (KAB) is making available event organizer toolkits, including educational materials, promotional items, event signage and “go-to guides,” in support of its 15th annual America Recycles Day on Nov. 15.

Interested parties can register their event online at AmericaRecyclesDay.org by Oct. 31, and a toolkit will be shipped in time for the event. Toolkit quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Grocery chains are among the organizations that have registered to promote the recycling and composting of everything from plastic grocery bags to CFL bulbs. Planned events are include education programs, collection events, flash mobs and some programs designed to provide rewards of cash and prizes to random recyclers.

“An America Recycles Day event can take on any shape or form, collect any recyclable or compostable material, or engage any audience,” said Brenda Pulley, national program manager and senior vice president of recycling, Keep America Beautiful, in a statement. “I’m thrilled with the creativity and diversity of the events being registered already, and Keep America Beautiful wants to support even more.”

National sponsors to date include American Chemistry Council, Anheuser-Busch, Earth911, Glad, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé Waters North America, Owens-Illinois, PepsiCo and Waste Management.
