AMSTERDAM — Ahold here said Tuesday it has completed the acquisition of 82 supermarkets in the Netherlands from Jumbo Supermarkets.
The acquisition had been announced in April and approved by Dutch competition authorities in July. It followed the acquisition of the C-1000 chain by Jumbo last year.

The acquisition includes 78 stores under the C-1000 banner and four Jumbo stores.
Ahold said it would convert 14 of the stores to its market-leading Albert Heijn banner as soon as possible and plans to convert the others “over a period of time.”
