DAYTON, Ohio — Dorothy Lane Market has introduced a better-for-you lunchbox for on-the-go customers.

Designed to fit into a backpack or briefcase, the recyclable lunchbox caters to those who want a portable meal for a long car ride, flight, school lunch or athletic activity.

Each box contains a sandwich made with Dorothy Lane’s freshly baked DLM-brand Unbleached White Sandwich Bread or Classic 10-Grain Bread. The three sandwich options are Ham and Cheddar, Turkey and Cheddar, or DLM Organic Creamy Peanut Butter and DLM Strawberry Preserves.

The boxes also contain a Red Delicious apple, string cheese, a bag of Pepperidge Farm goldfish and a box of Sun-Maid raisins. “We wanted to fill this lunch with smart choices that would not only make Mom happy, but the kids, as well,” Dorothy Lane states in promotional materials.

Merchandised in the deli department, each box costs $3.99 and stays fresh for three days.

“Next time you or your family needs a healthy alternative for lunch on the run, come in and grab a couple of our new lunchboxes,” Dorothy Lane states. “They are packed and ready to go whenever you are.”
