SAN ANTONIO — The H.E. Butt Grocery Co. has turned its parking lots into veterinarian offices this month.

The retailer has teamed with Vanguard Veterinary Associates to offer affordable pet vaccinations, tests and samples of H-E-B pet products. San Antonio-based Vanguard Veterinary Associates is a mobile pet vaccination clinic that offers low-cost services, ranging from a one-year dog/cat rabbi vaccination for $10 to Rabies/DHLPPV/Bordetella/Canine Influenza for dogs for $61.

Vanguard also offers heartworm screening, heartworm preventatives, flea medications, tapeworm medications, feline leukemia and feline AIDS tests and microchipping.

The clinics will be held throughout this month in the parking lots of dozens of H-E-B stores here, as well as in Austin, Dallas, Houston and other areas of the state. A full schedule of events is available on the heb.com website.
