In honor of National Cookie Month in October, The Hershey Company will introduce Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch. Hershey is combining the classic Hershey’s Chocolate with the creamy, crunchy twist consumers desire in Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch bars.

To meet the growing demand for multi-textural eating experiences and various snacking occasions, Hershey re-imagined its iconic chocolate bar, pairing it with layers of crunchy cookie bits and fillings to offer a textured snacking experience. The Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch bars reinterpret the classic Hershey’s bar with a new twist in response to the changing snacking landscape.

“We recognize eating habits are evolving and that consumers are moving away from traditional meals and into multiple snacking occasions that include various tastes and textures throughout the day,” says Mary-Ann Somers, general manager and vice president, U.S. at The Hershey Company. “Hershey wanted to bring consumers an indulgent snack that is a different experience from the classic Hershey’s chocolate bar, but still just as delicious. We’ve spent the last 18 months perfecting this innovation to ensure that it not only tastes great, but meets the needs and desires of today’s modern consumer.”

Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch will be unveiled for the first time at The Hershey Company’s booth at the National Association of Convenience Stores annual show Oct. 18-21 in Atlanta. Beginning this October, National Cookie Month, and continuing through 2017, Hershey’s brand will support the new innovation and launch with various marketing initiatives.

Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch bars will come in three flavors: Caramel, Vanilla Crème and Mint, which combine the crunchy cookie texture, layered with a filing, all wrapped in creamy Hershey’s Chocolate. Each piece is portion controlled at 90-100 calories and made of three of Hershey’s iconic chocolate “pips” to create a convenient, layered, snack-able treat. Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch bars will be available at retail nationally starting December 2016 – just in time for the holidays, making it a perfect new treat for Santa, or even as an added treat to holiday entertainers’ snacks and sweets spreads.

Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch bars will be offered in multiple sizes for a variety of snacking occasions and for sharing. Sizes include a 6.3-ounce bag that is filled with nine pieces of individually wrapped Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch with a suggested retail price of $4.19 for all flavors, a 3.5-ounce “XL Bar” featuring five pieces with a suggested retail price of $2.89 for all flavors), a 2.1-ounce “King Size Bar” that has three pieces with a suggested retail price of $1.69, available in Caramel only, and a two-piece, 1.4-ounce bar, for on the go snacking with a suggested retail price of 99-cents, available in Caramel only.
