Suppliers offering goods for sale through Wakefern Food Corp.’s ShopRite and Fresh Grocer e-commerce pages now have additional merchandising opportunities through a sponsored listing capability.

The sponsored listings solution is designed to enable brands to heighten native product exposure with retailers, according to Winooski, Vt.-based MyWebGrocer (MWG), which provides software behind Wakefern’s digital assets.

MWG said the offer enables CPG brands and their agency partners to invest from performance-based marketing budgets to boost product visibility when shoppers are searching. In addition, MWG said it offers reporting transparency that allows brands the ability to optimize campaign performance.

“We’re excited to continue expanding our digital marketing capabilities for brands,” Steve Henig, VP of digital commerce and analytics for Wakefern, said in a statement. “As e-commerce evolves, we will continue to enhance our offerings to give our customers the best experience possible.”

Wakefern, is based in Keasbey, N.J., is a cooperative wholesaler comprising 50 members who independently own and operate 349 supermarkets under the ShopRite, The Fresh Grocer, Price Rite Marketplace and Dearborn Market banners.
