LANCASTER, Ohio — A Carnival Foods store here has installed glass doors on 124 feet of previously open dairy cases. The REMIsafe French open-hinged doors are from Remis America, Elkhart, Indiana.

"Covering the cases immediately warmed up the aisle, around 15 degrees. I'm not kidding, it was cold," said Dan Bay, Carnival store owner. "Our use of compressors went from four compressors on a rack down to 1.5 compressors. All the refrigeration guys saw immediate results."

The installation also included LED lights from ElectraLED, Largo, Fla. Bay said that product appearance improved with the LED lighting. Customer response to the doors and lighting has been positive, he added.

Carnival operates three stores in Ohio.
