LAND O' LAKES, DEAN IN DEAL

., based here, and Arden Hills, Minn.-based Land O'Lakes have expanded a strategic alliance and licensing arrangement that will allow Dean Foods to use the Land O'Lakes brand name nationally on a range of value-added fluid milk and cultured dairy products, as well as on all basic fluid dairy products, the companies announced late last month.

Consumers should see the impact in August, when Dean Foods, through its Morningstar Foods subsidiary, launches Land O' Lakes Dairy Ease lactose-free milk, officials said. The agreement evolved from the Dairy Marketing Alliance, which was created to leverage the combined strength of Dean Foods' position in the dairy case with the reputation of the Land O' Lakes brand, officials said.
