MONTVALE, N.J. — David Kelly, A&P’s senior vice president of real estate, is leaving the company to take a similar role at Rite Aid, sources told SN.

Kelly was named to his role at A&P following its acquisition of Pathmark in 2007 and was the company’s highest ranking real estate executive.

It was unclear who at A&P would succeed Kelly, who was expected to leave the company by the end of the month. His resignation follows that of Brenda Galgano, the former chief financial officer, who left earlier this year. Kelly would be reunited with former Pathmark executives now at RiteAid, including chief executive officer John Standley.

Officials at RiteAid and A&P were not immediately available for comment.
