Joe Crafton
PLANO, Texas — Crossmark here said Tuesday it has named chief executive officer of the sales and marketing agency. He had been president.
He succeeds John Thompson, who had been CEO since 2010, and will now focus primarily on acquisitions and strategic alliances as chief strategy officer. Ben Fischer remains chief operating officer and assumes the additional role of president.
The changes, effective last week, follow the recent acquisition of a majority stake in the company by an affiliate of Warburg Pincus.

“We have charted a course for the future that positions us well to grow our business and better serve our clients,” Thompson said. “I chose to create the new chief strategy officer role in order to better focus my efforts on external growth opportunities. Simultaneously, Joe and Ben will continue to develop and lead new initiatives that will continue to enhance service to our clients and customers.”
Crafton joined Crossmark in 1988 and had been president since 2010. He had previously worked at Procter & Gamble.
