Fritsch, Gronowski Join Food Institute Board
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. - Douglas J. Fritsch, senior vice president, retail and business development for IGA USA, and Jamie Gronowski, president of operations at Acosta, have joined the board of trustees of The Food Institute, an information provider based here.

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. - Douglas J. Fritsch, senior vice president, retail and business development for IGA USA, and Jamie Gronowski, president of operations at Acosta, have joined the board of trustees of The Food Institute, an information provider based here.
Fritsch is responsible for U.S. retail operations, key distribution and manufacturer relations, marketing, communications and new member growth at Chicago-based IGA. He began his career in the retail food industry with Chicago-based Jewel Food Stores, and later worked at White Hen Pantry.
Gronowski, a 30-year veteran of the sales and marketing agency industry, began his career in Salt Lake City as vice president of sales for Kelley Clarke. In 1982 he moved to Denver to become vice president of grocery for McFerren, Speakes and Gustafson (MSG/A), and in 1990 he became president and chief executive officer. MSG/A was acquired by Acosta, based in Jacksonville, Fla., in1999. In 2000 he helped create Acosta's Natural/Specialty Sales subsidiary and became its president. Gronowski was promoted to president of strategic channels in 2003 and now oversees Acosta's operations teams for North America.
