Kings Names 5 Executives

PARSIPPANY, N.J. ­— Kings Super Markets here said Friday it has promoted longtime company veterans Fred Brohm and Richard Durante and hired three new executives.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. ­— Kings Super Markets here said Friday it has promoted longtime company veterans Fred Brohm and Richard Durante and hired three new executives.

Fred Brohm

Brohm, who joined Kings in 1981, was named executive vice president and chief strategy officer, tasked with delivering the company's strategic plan, managing the real estate portfolio and designing "new business concepts and ventures." He had been EVP of merchandising and marketing.

Durante, who joined the chain in 1988, was named EVP of merchandising and operations. He most recently had been vice president of store operations.

Michael Bruno was named senior VP of human resources. Prior to joining Kings, he was EVP/chief administrative officer for media company Rodale Inc., and he previously held executive HR positions with General Electric and PepsiCo.

Ed Quintana was named vice president of IT. He has 17 years of technology experience across multiple industries, including PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Emil Grosso was named vice president of business development, overseeing licensing and catering across the company, while also working with the merchandising and product development groups. Before joining Kings, Grosso was president of Sebastian's Café & Catering in Boston. He also held an executive retail position with Dean & Deluca in New York City.

The announcements were made by Judy Spires, who took over as chief executive officer at the regional chain about a year ago.
