Outfox Hospitality, Chicago-based food retailers of Foxtrot Market and Dom’s Kitchen & Market, have named former Whole Foods Executive Vice President Rob Twyman as CEO, the company announced Tuesday.

Twyman starts the role on March 11 and succeeds Liz Williams. Outfox noted in a press release that Jay Owen and Bob Mariano, both co-founders and co-chairmen of Dom’s, and Mike LaVitola, co-founder of Foxtrot, will maintain their advisor and board roles at Outfox Hospitality.

Twyman, who has more than three decades of experience in the supermarket industry, spent 27 years in leadership roles at Whole Foods Market, ultimately holding the position of EVP of Global Operations.

He most recently served as CEO of the nonprofit grocery chain Daily Table, which works to provide affordable, nutritious foods to underserved communities.

“Rob is a visionary in the grocery retail space having transformed the consumer food and beverage supermarket experience for over three decades.” Owen said in a press release. “We are confident he is the right leader to guide Outfox Hospitality to new heights as we lead the evolution of the future of food, snacking and redefining your neighborhood market.”

Foxtrot and Dom’s announced the merger last November and closed the deal before the end of the year. Foxtrot is a c-store concept with a café that ships select groceries and food items, while Dom’s has two locations in Chicago with large prepared foods sections.

At the end of 2023, Foxtrot had 32 locations in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas and Austin.
