ST. LOUIS — Schnuck Markets here said last week that Dianna Pasley, director of food safety at the chain, has been named to chair Food Marketing Institute's Food Protection Committee, which addresses food safety initiatives and legislation on a national level. Pasley joined Schnucks in 2001 and over the past eight years has worked to build a food safety team to develop and implement education and training for associates and customers. She previously was supervisor of environmental services in the Jefferson County (Mo.) Health Department.
PRICE CHOPPER NAMES TWO NEW VPS

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets said last week that it has hired Steven Duffy as vice president of architectural design and purchasing services, a newly created position, and promoted Dan Koch to vice president of deli/foodservice. Duffy most recently was director of store planning and design at Talbots, and previously worked at Safeway and Toys “R” Us. He reports to William Sweet, vice president of engineering and construction. Koch, who most recently was vice president of bakery, has been with Price Chopper since 2006, and before that he held positions with Fresh Brands, Fleming Cos., Dawn Foods and Baker's Supermarkets. He reports to Mark Brown, vice president of perishables.
WEIS MARKETS TAPS HOLT, DAVIS
SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets here last week said Brian Holt has joined the retailer as director of marketing and Steve Davis has joined the company as director of GM/HBC sales and merchandising. Holt previously worked for Black & Decker hardware and home improvement. Davis has held merchandising and operations posts at Jewel-Osco, First National, Tops, Giant, Wild Oats and Pharmica.
