Pathmark Veteran Donald to Join School Faculty

Jim Donald, the former chief executive officer of Starbucks and a veteran executive of supermarket companies Safeway and Pathmark, has joined the faculty at University of Washington-Bothell as an executive-in-residence, the university said.

BOTHELL, Wash. — Jim Donald, the former chief executive officer of Starbucks and a veteran executive of supermarket companies Safeway and Pathmark, has joined the faculty at University of Washington-Bothell here as an executive-in-residence, the university said. In this position, Donald will provide insight and mentoring to current undergraduate and graduate students and faculty. He will also support the program through lectures on business strategy.

Donald served as Starbucks’ CEO until last year. Prior to that he was CEO at Pathmark and an executive vice president of Safeway’s Eastern Division.
