SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets here said Tuesday that Angelo Cannistraci was promoted to vice president of merchandising, reporting to Russell Zwanka, vice president of sales, merchandising and marketing.

Cannistraci, who has worked for Price Chopper since 1975, most recently was vice president of grocery merchandising.

Succeeding him in that position is Jack Serota, who has been with Price Chopper since 2004 and most recently was vice president of general merchandise. He previously was director of general merchandise/HBC at Giant Food and before that had been with Safeway's Eastern division.

The announcements follow a series of executive changes unveiled last week at the 125-store chain.
