Sobey’s Beesley named CFO at Hudson’s Bay

Paul Beesley, a senior executive at Empire Cos. and its Sobeys supermarket division, has been named CFO of department store chain Hudson’s Bay Co.

Paul Beesley, a senior executive at Empire Cos. and its Sobeys supermarket division, has been named CFO of department store chain Hudson’s Bay Co.

Beesley most recently was a VP of Empire and served as chief corporate development officer of Sobeys. He joined that group in 1999.

Hudson’s Bay operates Canada’s largest department store chain and is also parent of U.S. retailers Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor.

“My new position with Hudson’s Bay Company affords the opportunity to join one of the most exciting companies in the retail sector. I look forward to working with the HBC team to deliver on the company’s strategic goals and to help drive its performance and shareholder value,” Beesley said in a statement.
