Standley to Take Over as CEO of RiteAid

John Standley, the former chief executive officer at Pathmark Stores, will take over as CEO of Rite Aid Corp. here effective June 24, the drug retailer said Thursday.

CAMP HILL, Pa. — John Standley, the former chief executive officer at Pathmark Stores, will take over as CEO of Rite Aid Corp. here effective June 24, the drug retailer said Thursday.

Standley has been Rite Aid’s president and chief operating officer. Mary Sammons, currently Rite Aid’s chairman and CEO, will continue as chairman.

Standley, a former chief financial officer of Rite Aid, returned to the company in 2008 after serving as Pathmark’s CEO between 2005 and 2007, when it was sold to A&P. Standley previously served in key executive financial positions at various retail and grocery companies including Fleming, Fred Meyer, Ralph’s Grocery Co., and Smith Food & Drug.
