Weston Appoints Binning as CFO
TORONTO — George Weston Ltd., parent company of the Loblaw Cos. grocery chain, on Thursday announced that it had appointed Pavi Binning as its new chief financial officer, effective Aug. 16.

TORONTO — George Weston Ltd., parent company of the Loblaw Cos. grocery chain, on Thursday announced that it had appointed Pavi Binning as its new chief financial officer, effective Aug. 16.
Binning will succeed Bob Vaux, who is stepping down from CFO duties as part of a planned transition to retirement at the end of 2011. Until then Vaux will continue to serve as executive vice president, corporate development.
Binning has served on the board of directors at George Weston for the last year. His international management experience includes his most recent stint as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Nortel Networks. He has also held senior executive positions at Hanson, Marconi Corp. and Diageo.
