BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC here plans to refresh and remodel its stores in the Baton Rouge, La., area over the next few months by adding a new decor package, plus expanded perishables and local favorites, the company said Wednesday as it opened its newest store — a 57,500-square-foot unit in Denham Springs, La.

Stores will be re-set to encompass several features, including hot wing bars, fresh sushi, more service deli offerings, more meats and added wines, spirits and beers, plus a wide range of local staples, a spokeswoman told SN.

The Denham Springs store is the chain's second new store in Louisiana since the company was formed in 2006, and its first new store this year. The company said the store features fresh Gulf seafood shipped in three times a week; fresh sushi; a hot wings bar; fresh salad, soup and fruit bars; and a pharmacy. Customers who transfer prescriptions to the store through the end of June will be eligible to receive $100 in free gas cards.

The store stocks local favorites such as as Guidry's produce; Zapp's snacks; Cousin's salad dressings; Manda's meats; Community coffee; Blue Runner beans; Chef John Folse entrees; and Tony Chachere's creole cuisine.
