Costco gets approval to move forward with plans in Michigan
The big box retailer received the green light to build a warehouse and fuel facility
Big box retailer Costco Wholesale has won approval to build a warehouse and fuel facility on a vacant property in Fruitport Township, Mich., according to reporting from local news site WZZM 13.
The town’s planning commission held a public hearing and voted on the company’s proposal Tuesday evening.
Board members considered a site plan as well as a request for construction. After hearing from dozens of locals, who all supported the plan, commissioners voted unanimously to approve the proposal.
The combined assessed value of the nearly 80-acre property is $769,800, according to online property records.
Costco currently has three locations in West Michigan: Grand Rapids, Grandville, and Kalamazoo.
